Be Inspired

On the Tuesday afternoon in October of 2011, my world changed all because of a chance meeting with a very famous street artist. I literally and accidentally plowed into Shepard Fairey as we was walking up Robertson Blvd in West Hollywood. I was able to squash my initial OMG I am such a fan freak out, I think pretty quickly, so that we could have an actual conversation about art and its effect on the world.

I was fortunate enough to be able to transform that meeting into a collaboration opportunity and to say that working artists like Shepard opened me up to a world I did not know existed inside of me, would be an understatement. They inspired me with their drive to share their messages, and working with them opened up and drove me to uncover the message that I wanted to share.

I knew my message would have to come in text form, as I have always been a quote collector and love writing. Inspired by the artists Cole Sternberg’s ONE DAY and Curtis Kulig’s LOVE ME, I decided that my message would come in two words.

In those two words, I wanted to distill down my purpose, my mission and what I stand for. Those two words - BE INSPIRED. I chose those words because that is what I hope to be, inspired so that I can also be inspiring. Since 2011, this message has been the driver behind all of the work I have done as a creative director, a consultant, a coach, and a want to be street artist.

If you had to distill your purpose, your message and what you stand for into two words, what would they be?
