The Marc Phillips Showroom Launch: A Breaking Ground Party to Remember

One of the defining moments in my career happened thirteen years ago when I was tasked with opening the Los Angeles showroom for the rug company Marc Phillips. Embracing my belief in standing out and being different, I initiated the launch of a collection of one-of-a-kind street art rugs in collaboration with renowned artists such as Shepard Fairey, RETNA, Kenny Scharf, and Cole Sternberg. To make a grand entrance, I suggested hosting an event called "The Breaking Ground Party" before construction began on the showroom. This event allowed the design community to experience the rustic beauty of the space and get a sneak peek at our unique collaborations. The party was a tremendous success, with over 400 attendees, and it remains a memorable event that people still talk about today.

Woven Accents: Changing the Conversation with Memorable Experiences

As Creative Director at Woven Accents, I had the privilege of continuing to create unforgettable experiences. I launched a mural program and a series of collaborative window installations that aimed to challenge conventional notions of inspiring design. These initiatives caught the attention of passersby, prompting them to stop, take pictures, and enter the showroom to learn more. The impact was tangible as people expressed their excitement and anticipation for what we would do next. Years later, designers continue to share how my work at Woven Accents inspired them and influenced their own projects.

GC Collaborative: Creating Memorable Moments and Building Community

At GC Collaborative, I'm constantly seeking new ways to create memorable moments for both ourselves and our clients. When I began my work as a creative consultant, our annual trip to Milan for Salone del Mobile and Milan Design Week, became a highlight. Through curated experiences like visiting Lago D'Orta and Casa Fantini, guided tours at the Salone Fair, and welcoming cocktail parties at prestigious venues like Bulgari, we fostered a sense of community and provided creative fuel for our participants throughout the year.

Coaching for Authenticity: Empowering Clients to Create Memorable Moments Within Their Organizations Building on my expertise in creating memorable moments, I transitioned into coaching work to support my clients in bringing all of who they are into the work they do. Through personalized coaching sessions, I empower individuals and organizations to embrace authenticity, tap into their creative potential, and create memorable moments within their own teams and organizations. By integrating their unique strengths, values, and passions, my clients unlock a new level of inspiration and impact, resulting in transformative experiences that resonate with their audience and leave a lasting impression.

My journey from misery to self-trust has been marked by bold initiatives, remarkable experiences, and a steadfast commitment to authenticity. Through events like the Breaking Ground Party, transformative installations at Woven Accents, and community-building trips with GC Collaborative, I've witnessed the power of embracing who we are and integrating it into our work. Now, as a coach, I extend that power to my clients, helping them create memorable moments within their own organizations. I hope this serves as an inspiration.
