It’s one thing to start a business…
It’s another thing entirely to create a STAND OUT brand. But here’s the thing, you don’t have a strong business until you start attracting clients that are a right fit for you and the growth of your brand.
And what keeps you from attracting those ideal clients? It’s about lacking clarity. Lacking clarity about what makes you unique, around who you want to be as a brand and why, and it is about lacking confidence in your ability to market yourself.
Branding is the process of getting to know who you are.
Marketing is telling the world who you are over and over again.
So many designers, small business owners, and makers tell me..
Self promotion feels icky
They HATE social media
They don’t know where to find the ‘right’ clients
That their work feels devoid of meaning
That many of their clients don’t value their work
They feel like their business is running them, rather than the other way around
If this is YOU, I TOTALLY get it…
I started out my career with one foot in the creative side of business, learning about marketing, creating experiences, and paying attention to all of the touch points between brand and consumer. When these ingredients are tended to in the right way, they create trust, unforgettable moments, and a loyal following of advocates for the brand. My other foot, however, was rooted in the path I was told I should be on, and that path was sales.
From an early age I was taught that if I wanted to have enough money for food and rent, the creative life would not take me there, and so at the age of 23 I betrayed myself and removed the one foot I had rooted in creativity and dutifully placed both feet on the pathway to sales and what I was told would be a good living. The only problem was I hated what I was doing, I still was not making the kind of money I wanted, and I felt completely dissatisfied with what I was putting out in the world.
After a failed marriage and a move to a new city, I started the journey from, “really I sell rugs for a living” to doing work that really mattered to me. During the process I started to rediscover my creative self, my true values, mission, and vision for the future. It was all of the elements that kept me moving forward even when I faced what seemed like a never ending sea of no’s. They also guided my decisions along the way and gave me the confidence to want to shout from every rooftop, “This is my work, and this is what matters to me.”
It is a result of my own experience, my training as a coach, and my partnership with Digital Marketing Expert Ericka Saurit, that we have been able to breakdown the SCIENCE of MARKETING, BRANDING, and DECISION MAKING, so that you can stop second guessing yourself and simply follow the process to create real sustainable & meaningful growth.
