The Importance of Creating Your Vision
When I am working with a client, I ask them, “What are your top 3 goals for the year?” Unfortunately, I tend to hear a slightly different version of the same three generic answers.
I want to make more money.
I want better clients.
I want to be recognized for the work I do.
However, when I ask them about their vision for the future, things get interesting; they get specific, come alive, and create a magical picture of what they want to achieve.
So now, why is this important?
When we are connected to our vision, and that picture is so clear that it seems like it has already happened, we can move forward even when we face obstacles, a lack of resources, and what feels like an overwhelming sea of no’s. This is because our vision pulls us so that we cannot help but keep moving towards it until it finally comes to fruition. I know this is true because I have experienced it more than once in my career, and I do not believe that there is anything special about me. Anyone can do this. You just have to believe in your vision.
